As you know, each year CHARACTER COUNTS! in Jacksonville honors an individual who has lived by the Golden Rule...someone who stands out for their exemplary character and commitment to community. Past honorees have included Sheriff John Rutherford, Gateway CEO Gary Powers, and Councilman Kevin Hyde.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be honoring Lois Chepenik at the 2008 Golden Rule Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. Lois is a pillar of character, advocacy, volunteerism and leadership. Her contributions include (but are in no way limited to) co-founding the Jewish Community Alliance, serving as Executive Director of the Jacksonville Community Council (1994-2004), co-chair of the 2006 JCCI Murder Study, serving on numerous boards of directors, and on-going support of the non-profit and mentoring community.
It is our duty to honor our community's unsung heroes and we would appreciate your support. Please join us and support CHARACTER COUNTS! by attending the event and/or sponsoring a table to help honor a woman whose commitment to the community and the golden rule has made a Jacksonville a stronger, safer, more vibrant community.
